On production lines for three years already, the Jeep Gladiator is still –for 2023- on the list of Jeep vehicles to be produced for this model-year.

For those who do not know the Gladiator very well, or how important it is, then you should know that it is the first Jeep pickup since the Comanche, which disappeared in 1992.

So, find out what we have learned about the unique 2023 Gladiator, in terms of performance, interior and cargo space.

2023 Jeep Gladiator: Performance

Propelled by a 3.6 L V6 engine that can provide you with 285 horsepower and 260 lb-ft. maximum torque, the Jeep Gladiator comes with a 6- speed manual transmission. As an option, you could also choose an 8- speed automatic transmission. It is also possible to opt for a 3.0 L diesel V6 turbo engine with 260 horsepower and 442 lb-ft. maximum torque.

In the first case, the 2023 Jeep Gladiator can reach 100 km/hr in 8.2 seconds. To go from 80 km/hr to 120 km/hr, you will need around 6 seconds. In the second case, you will reach the 0-100 km/hr in 8.4 seconds and the 80-120 km/hr in 6.3 seconds.

As for fuel consumption, in an urban setting, the Jeep Gladiator will require 14.3 L per 100 km, but 10.4 L per 100 km on highway. This brings combined fuel consumption numbers to around 12.6 L/100 km.

Finally, when it comes to towing capacity –which is always important when referring to a pickup- the Gladiator can tow up to 7,650 pounds.

The driving experience aboard the 2023 Jeep Gladiator

Performance is obviously not the only important thing when driving a vehicle. It is also important to be comfortable while driving, especially if you are planning on using your vehicle for hours on end on the job.

Those who like the vertical dashboard style like the one found aboard the Wrangler will be glad to know that the Gladiator also offers the same type of dashboard. Lots of people prefer this style given how accessible it is and how easy it is to use.

For those who love the outdoors, the 2023 Gladiator exterior is made up of panels that are easy to remove, allowing you to fully enjoy an open concept interior –and the outdoors- easily. This configuration, although normal for a Jeep vehicle, is extremely rare for a pickup.

However, with the cold we face during our Canadian winters, a warm interior is also a must. Don’t worry, the Gladiator is available with heated seats and steering wheel so that you can stay comfortable year round.

Generous Cargo Space

With a 5- foot long bed, the 2023 Jeep gladiator can carry all of your gear –and whatever else- easily.

Moreover, the interior is also loaded with smart storage options, like a hidden compartment under rear seats, to make sure you never run out of space.

In short, no matter what you wish to carry with you, the 2023 Jeep Gladiator will be there to help.
